Project Overview
This project at Residensi M Oscar, Sri Petaling, is a compact apartment kitchen renovation where EverKitchen delivered a warm two-tone kitchen with a peninsula extension and a fully integrated appliance wall. Combining white high-gloss upper cabinetry with warm oak wood-grain lower cabinets, a white marble-effect countertop, and warm LED underlighting, the kitchen achieves a bright, welcoming finish that feels generous and well-equipped within a compact footprint.
Homeowner Habits & Needs
The homeowners needed a compact kitchen to function as a complete, well-equipped cooking space with sufficient appliance storage for a built-in oven, a full-height refrigerator, and daily countertop appliances, while keeping the layout open and connected to the living area. A peninsula extension was needed to add workspace and create a casual dining or prep counter at the kitchen boundary without closing off the open-plan flow.
Design Challenges & Pain Points
Fitting a built-in oven, a full-height refrigerator, and a functional cooking and sink zone into a compact kitchen footprint requires careful zoning and vertical use of wall space. Placing the built-in oven in an integrated tall cabinet column frees the lower countertop of a large appliance and keeps the cooking wall clean. Running white high-gloss upper cabinets across the full wall height above the marble backsplash reflects light and keeps the kitchen feeling open, while the warm oak lower cabinets ground the palette and prevent the space from feeling purely clinical.
Customised Kitchen Cabinets
The kitchen features white high-gloss flat-panel upper cabinets with warm oak wood-grain lower drawer and door fronts, creating a two-tone treatment across the full cooking wall. A white marble-effect countertop runs continuously from the cooking wall around the corner to the sink zone, with a matching marble-effect full-height backsplash tiled behind the hob and upper cabinet area. Warm LED strip lighting is recessed beneath the upper cabinet base, illuminating the countertop and backsplash below. A black undermount sink sits in the countertop at the corner zone, with a built-in oven integrated into a tall white high-gloss cabinet column beside the upper cabinet run.
Kitchen Peninsula
A compact peninsula extends from the main kitchen run into the open-plan living area, with a white marble-effect countertop overhang on the living side providing a casual dining and prep ledge. The peninsula base mirrors the warm oak wood-grain finish of the lower kitchen cabinets, tying it visually into the main kitchen rather than reading as a separate island piece. The peninsula creates a natural boundary between the kitchen and living zones while keeping sight lines open across the apartment.
Appliance Wall & Refrigerator Zone
A full-height refrigerator in stainless silver is positioned at the end of the kitchen run in a dedicated appliance alcove framed by upper white cabinetry above and a warm timber-lined niche panel beside it, creating a considered appliance zone rather than a freestanding refrigerator placement. The warm timber lining of the niche picks up the oak wood-grain of the lower cabinets and ties the refrigerator zone back into the overall palette.
TV Feature Wall & Living Area
A slim TV cabinet with a warm timber-backed open niche is built into the living area adjacent to the kitchen, with warm internal LED lighting illuminating the display shelf. The timber backing panel matches the oak wood-grain used in the kitchen lower cabinets, carrying the warm material language from the kitchen into the living zone and giving the apartment a connected, considered feel across both spaces.
