Project Overview
This project at Puchong Prima showcases EverKitchen’s work in a compact apartment kitchen that makes a confident design statement through an unexpected two-tone colour combination. Featuring soft lavender-blue lower cabinets paired with warm wood-grain upper cabinetry, white marble-effect countertops, black fixtures, warm LED strip lighting, and a black-framed glass display cabinet, the design creates a fresh, personality-driven kitchen that stands apart from the typical neutral palette.
Homeowner Habits & Needs
The homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt distinctly their own rather than a standard renovation outcome. Practical storage, a functional cooking layout with integrated hob and sink, and a display area for personal items were all required, alongside a colour choice that brought character into a compact space without making it feel smaller.
Design Challenges & Pain Points
Introducing a pastel accent colour into a kitchen requires careful pairing to avoid the space feeling unfinished or mismatched. Balancing the lavender-blue lower cabinets with the warm wood-grain upper cabinetry and white marble countertop required a deliberate material selection process to ensure the three finishes read as a cohesive palette rather than competing choices. Working within a compact kitchen footprint also meant every cabinet and countertop run had to be planned efficiently to maximise usable workspace.
Customised Kitchen Cabinets
The kitchen features a two-tone cabinet design: soft lavender-blue high-gloss lower cabinets paired with warm wood-grain textured upper cabinetry. White marble-effect countertops and a matching backsplash run the full length of the cooking wall, providing a clean neutral surface that bridges the two cabinet finishes. Under-cabinet LED strip lighting runs along the upper cabinets, casting warm light across the countertop and adding depth to the wood-grain finish above. A black undermount sink with a matching black pull-down tap introduces a sharp contrast detail that grounds the soft colour palette.
Kitchen Island
A compact kitchen island with a white stone countertop and a cable management port on the surface provides additional prep space and a casual work or dining point. Its light grey or off-white base keeps the island visually lighter than the surrounding lower cabinets, allowing the lavender-blue to remain the dominant colour accent in the space. The island’s clean lines and minimal detailing keep the compact kitchen feeling open rather than crowded.
Black-Framed Glass Display Cabinet
A tall black-framed glass display cabinet with warm internal LED strip lighting provides a dedicated space for personal collections, glassware, and decorative items. The black frame introduces a strong graphic element alongside the wood-grain upper cabinetry, adding visual structure to the kitchen wall. The warm internal glow creates an inviting display focal point that complements the ambient under-cabinet lighting throughout the kitchen.
Design Philosophy
At EverKitchen, a compact kitchen is one of the best opportunities to make a bold colour decision, because the space is contained enough for the choice to feel intentional rather than overwhelming. The lavender-blue and warm wood-grain combination at Puchong Prima demonstrates that a distinctive kitchen does not require a large footprint, only a considered palette and the confidence to commit to it.
