Project Overview

This project at Taman Puchong Legenda, Puchong, is a double-storey landed home renovation where EverKitchen delivered a warm, natural material package centred on pale sandy oak vertical slat panels used across multiple zones: a full-height staircase slat wall, kitchen upper cabinetry, a dry kitchen or utility counter, and open glass-fronted display shelving. Warm LED strip lighting integrated into the slat wall base, beneath kitchen upper cabinets, and inside the open shelving units ties every zone together with a consistent warm amber glow throughout the home.

Homeowner Habits & Needs

The homeowners wanted a landed home that felt warm and natural from the entrance through the living area, staircase, and kitchen, using timber-toned materials consistently rather than introducing multiple different finishes across zones. The staircase wall needed to be a design feature in its own right rather than a plain painted surface. The kitchen required open glass display shelving for daily kitchen accessories alongside standard upper cabinet storage, and a dry kitchen or utility counter with a marble-effect surface for additional food preparation space.

Design Challenges & Pain Points

Using vertical slat panels as a continuous architectural element across a staircase wall and kitchen cabinetry run in a double-storey landed home requires the slat module size and timber tone to be consistent across both applications so they read as the same design language even in different zones and under different lighting conditions. Integrating warm LED strip lighting at the base of the staircase slat wall creates a warm amber glow that illuminates the slat texture from below, making the staircase wall a feature that is as striking at night as it is during the day.

Staircase Feature Wall

The staircase features a full-height vertical slat panel wall in pale sandy oak timber grain running the full height of the staircase from ground to upper floor, with warm LED strip lighting recessed at the base of the slat wall casting a warm amber wash upward across the slat texture. The warm LED uplighting at floor level highlights the depth and shadow of each vertical slat, giving the staircase wall a warm, textured quality that changes character between day and night. A black metal balustrade with slim vertical balusters provides a clean contrast against the warm timber slat wall behind it.

Kitchen Cabinets & Open Display Shelving

The kitchen features pale sandy oak vertical slat or linear grain upper cabinetry matching the staircase wall timber tone, with a white marble-effect countertop and backsplash running the full length of the cooking wall. A black undermount sink with a matte black gooseneck tap is set into the marble countertop at the window end of the kitchen. Open glass-fronted display shelving with warm LED strip lighting is integrated into the upper cabinet run beside the sink zone, providing a warm-lit display and storage area for glass containers, kitchen accessories, and daily essentials. A slim horizontal frosted or smoked glass cabinet with internal warm LED lighting sits above the countertop at one point, providing a concealed but warm-lit storage niche within the upper cabinet line.

Dry Kitchen & Utility Counter

A dry kitchen or utility counter with a white marble-effect countertop is positioned beside the main kitchen run or at the kitchen boundary, providing additional food preparation space and housing a freestanding refrigerator or appliance at one end. Track lighting above the dry kitchen counter provides focused task illumination, and the marble-effect countertop surface matches the main kitchen countertop for a unified worktop finish across both zones.

Entry Corridor & Full-Height Cabinet

The entry corridor features a full-height flat-panel cabinet in a warm white or light greige matte finish flanking the entrance to the open-plan living and dining area, with a warm amber LED strip light integrated vertically at the cabinet edge, casting a warm glow down the corridor and drawing the eye toward the dining zone beyond. The combination of the warm LED vertical light accent and the full-height flat-panel cabinet gives the entry corridor a considered, hotel-lobby quality that sets the tone for the rest of the home.

Design Philosophy

At EverKitchen, a natural timber material carried consistently from the staircase wall through the kitchen cabinetry is enough to give an entire landed home its character. At Taman Puchong Legenda, pale sandy oak slat panels, warm LED uplighting, marble-effect countertops, and open glass display shelving combine to create a home that feels warm, natural, and considered at every level.

One-Stop Home Renovation

From warm timber vertical slat staircase walls and open glass display kitchen shelving to marble-effect countertops, dry kitchen utility counters, warm LED corridor accents, and full-height entry cabinetry, EverKitchen provides one-stop home renovation solutions for double-storey landed homes that want a natural, warm material identity from ground to upper floor. Our goal is a home where the timber speaks for itself.
